Confidentiality

• All information, whether verbal or written in notes, is treated as strictly private and confidential.
• Your therapist (Neil Irish) has a responsibility both to the client and to the community at large. Some moral and legal limitations therefore apply to confidentiality. These limitations mainly concern risk of serious self-harm, harm to others, and child protection issues. If a situation arises in which the moral or legal limits of confidentiality are exceeded, the reasons will be explained by the therapist and discussed with the client (you) at the time.

Working Together

• Therapy is undertaken on the understanding that it is a ‘collaborative’ process, and that progress depends in part upon the client’s own motivation and participation.
• From time to time, we may discuss and agree some homework tasks or exercises that you may try to do outside of our time together. Generally, their purpose is to break apart old behaviour patterns, loosen and change appropriate belief systems and/or build skills that are very helpful in achieving the desired goal of therapy.
• You have the right to determine the pace and rhythm or our work together. Please feel free to discuss how you feel it is progressing, or if you would like to review some issues or concerns. Let me know if something has been particularly helpful or was in any way distressing for you. Your open feedback is vitally important to me throughout our working alliance.
• The time we have available per session is between fifty to sixty minutes depending on the type of therapy. This includes time for payment and for booking future appointments. Please refer to the ‘Services & Fees’ section for full details of the length of sessions.

Client Records

• Neil Irish Coaching will hold written client records.
• Client records will be maintained, stored and disposed of in a manner which promotes confidentiality, security and privacy and complies with applicable laws.

Changes to Appointments and Cancellations

• Clients are politely requested to give at least 48 hours notice to change or cancel their appointment to avoid any cancellation charge.

Public Liability Insurance

• Neil Irish carries full professional indemnity and public liability insurance and is registered with the PHN (The Professional Hypnotherapy Network). I accept and follow the principles set forth in the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the Professional Hypnotherapy Network.
